SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR Frontman Honored With 'Legend' Award At 'Metal Hammer Award Show' (Video)
September 16, 2012SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor was honored with the "Legend" award at this year's installment of the Metal Hammer Award Show, which was held this past Friday, September 14 at Kesselhaus in Berlin, Germany. Former ACCEPT and current U.D.O. singer Udo Dirkschneider presented the award to Taylor, who stated, "It's very lucky to be able to do what I do, but I wouldn't be able to do this without the fans, without you guys, so thank you so much. I really appreciate it. And honestly, I wouldn't be able to do this without the people that I grew up listening to, like Udo, like METALLICA, like GUNS N' ROSES. So I followed in really good footsteps, and I hope I can keep doing it for a few more years."
Video footage of Corey's acceptance speech can be seen below.
Angela Gossow (ARCH ENEMY) hosted the event, which featured performances by SABATON, ELUVEITIE and CALLEJON.
"House Of Gold And Bones - Part 1", the first half of STONE SOUR's upcoming two-disc concept album, arrives on October 23, while the second half will come out next year, probably in May.
SLIPKNOT released a greatest-hits package on July 24 called "Antennas To Hell".
